Lucas Oil Spring Shoot Out

La Salle, IL (May 11, 2013) – Brady Smith edged out fellow Wisconsin driver, Jimmy Mars by just a few inches at LaSalle Speedway on Saturday Night in winning the Jeff’s Enginemasters Spring Shootout. It was Smith’s first Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series win since 2008. Trailing Smith and Mars to the finish line in the $10,000 to win race was John Blankenship, Chris Simpson, and Don O’Neal.

“I have to thank Jimmy (Mars) for racing me clean that was quite a race, we are happy to be here in Lucas Oil victory lane. We haven’t been racing much this year, I had knee surgery back in March, and it took a while to recover from that,” said Smith. With the win Smith became the seventh different winner in eleven LOLMDS events in 2013.

Mars was seeking his first LOLMDS victory since the ’09 North/South 100 at Florence (KY) Speedway, but fell just short of the win. “Congratulations to Brady, I hope the fans enjoyed that race, to run 50-laps here without a yellow says something about the track and the drivers in this race. We got boxed in there behind another car and Brady was able to get around me. I thought that on the final lap, I was going to get him. I saw him slide up the track and he left and opening, but we came up just short.”

Blankenship was looking for his first win of the season, and watched the action in front of him in the closing laps. “I was hoping maybe they would get together and we could sneak by for the win, we gained some points tonight, those two had a great race for the lead, I had a good battle with (Chris) Simpson for the entire race it seemed like.”

Completing the top ten were Jimmy Owens, Eddie Carrier Jr., Brian Birkhofer, Steve Francis, and Randy Korte.

In preliminary action, Eddie Carrier Jr. set the overall Time (Group A) amongst the 38 entrants, with a lap of 13.679 seconds. Randy Korte set the fastest time in Group B with a time of 13.993 seconds. Brady Smith, John Blankenship, Don O’Neal, and Chris Simpson won their respective heat races. Kent Robinson and Brandon Sheppard won their respective B-Mains.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will make its next stop at Batesville Motor Speedway in Batesville, AR for the 2nd Annual “Bad Boy 98” next week, from Thursday, May 16th with an Open Practice night and continue on Friday, May 17th, with RED BUCK Time Trials and Heat Races. Capping off the weekend on Saturday, May 18th, there will be B-Mains, and the 98-Lap, $20,000-to-win “Bad Boy 98” main event. For more information on BMS, log onto www.batesvillemotorspeedway.net.

  1. I simply want to say I’m beginner to blogging and definitely liked your web site. Most likely I’m likely to bookmark your site . You amazingly have fantastic posts. With thanks for sharing with us your web-site.

  2. Hands down, Apple’s app store wins by a mile. It’s a huge selection of all sorts of apps vs a rather sad selection of a handful for Zune. Microsoft has plans, especially in the realm of games, but I’m not sure I’d want to bet on the future if this aspect is important to you. The iPod is a much better choice in that case.

  3. It’s hard to find educated people about this subject, however, you seem like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

  4. When I initially left a comment I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a comment is added I receive four emails with the same comment. There has to be a means you can remove me from that service? Thanks a lot!

  5. Can I simply say what a comfort to find a person that truly understands what they are talking about on the web. You actually know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people ought to read this and understand this side of the story. I can’t believe you are not more popular given that you certainly have the gift.

  6. Hi! I simply wish to offer you a huge thumbs up for your great information you have here on this post. I am returning to your site for more soon.

  7. It’s hard to find well-informed people in this particular topic, however, you seem like you know what you’re talking about! Thanks

  8. Between me and my husband we’ve owned more MP3 players over the years than I can count, including Sansas, iRivers, iPods (classic & touch), the Ibiza Rhapsody, etc. But, the last few years I’ve settled down to one line of players. Why? Because I was happy to discover how well-designed and fun to use the underappreciated (and widely mocked) Zunes are.

  9. I’m amazed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s equally educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head. The issue is something which too few people are speaking intelligently about. I’m very happy I found this in my hunt for something relating to this.

  10. This is the right web site for anyone who wishes to find out about this topic. You know a whole lot its almost tough to argue with you (not that I personally would want to…HaHa). You certainly put a new spin on a topic which has been written about for many years. Great stuff, just great!

  11. Next time I read a blog, I hope that it does not disappoint me just as much as this particular one. After all, I know it was my choice to read, but I really thought you would have something interesting to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of moaning about something you could possibly fix if you weren’t too busy seeking attention.

  12. Aw, this was an incredibly nice post. Finding the time and actual effort to create a great article… but what can I say… I put things off a lot and never manage to get anything done.

  13. Spot on with this write-up, I actually believe that this website needs much more attention. I’ll probably be back again to read more, thanks for the info!

  15. I’ll gear this review to 2 types of people: current Zune owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a Zune and an iPod. (There are other players worth considering out there, like the Sony Walkman X, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision of the Zune vs players other than the iPod line as well.)

  16. Spot on with this write-up, I honestly feel this website needs much more attention. I’ll probably be back again to read through more, thanks for the info!

  17. Zune and iPod: Most people compare the Zune to the Touch, but after seeing how slim and surprisingly small and light it is, I consider it to be a rather unique hybrid that combines qualities of both the Touch and the Nano. It’s very colorful and lovely OLED screen is slightly smaller than the touch screen, but the player itself feels quite a bit smaller and lighter. It weighs about 2/3 as much, and is noticeably smaller in width and height, while being just a hair thicker.

  18. Aw, this was a really good post. Finding the time and actual effort to create a superb article… but what can I say… I hesitate a whole lot and never manage to get nearly anything done.

  19. I was pretty pleased to discover this page. I want to to thank you for ones time just for this wonderful read!! I definitely enjoyed every part of it and i also have you saved as a favorite to look at new information on your web site.

  20. Apple now has Rhapsody as an app, which is a great start, but it is currently hampered by the inability to store locally on your iPod, and has a dismal 64kbps bit rate. If this changes, then it will somewhat negate this advantage for the Zune, but the 10 songs per month will still be a big plus in Zune Pass’ favor.

  21. An interesting discussion is worth comment. I believe that you should publish more about this subject matter, it may not be a taboo subject but generally people do not discuss these issues. To the next! All the best!!

  22. Good day! I just want to give you a big thumbs up for your excellent info you’ve got right here on this post. I’ll be returning to your site for more soon.

  23. After I originally left a comment I seem to have clicked on the -Notify me when new comments are added- checkbox and from now on whenever a comment is added I recieve 4 emails with the same comment. Perhaps there is an easy method you can remove me from that service? Thanks!

  24. The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.

  25. Can I simply just say what a comfort to uncover someone that genuinely understands what they are discussing on the web. You certainly realize how to bring an issue to light and make it important. A lot more people ought to check this out and understand this side of the story. I can’t believe you are not more popular since you certainly have the gift.
