IRA Outlaw Sprint Series Coming to LaSalle Speedway

(February 22, 2021) LaSalle, IL – The officials from the LaSalle Speedway are excited to announce that the IRA Outlaw Sprint Series is coming in April. The IRA series will return to the dirt track in LaSalle on April 11, 2021. The sprints will be joined by the Badger Midget Auto Racing Association and Vintage Racing as support classes.

LaSalle Speedway owner Tony Izzo Jr. said, “I am excited to be able to put together another great show at LaSalle Speedway. Open wheel racing always put on an exciting show for the fans.”

The IRA Outlaw Sprint Series will compete in a 30-lap main event for $3,000 to win. The Badger Midgets will have a 25-lap main event.  

On Sunday April 11th, the pit gates will open at noon and grandstands at 1pm. Hotlaps will take place at 4:30pm. Opening ceremonies and heat race action will kick off at 6:15pm.

Tickets will be sold at the gate only. General admission is $25. Kids 11 & Under are FREE. Pit passes will be $40. Kids pit passes are $25.

LaSalle Speedway Releases Thaw Brawl Support Classes & More Event Information

(February 1, 2021) LaSalle, IL – The officials from the LaSalle Speedway are excited to announce the support classes and event details for the 2021 Thaw Brawl. With a special thanks to Great Lakes Lifting Solutions the DIRTcar Modifieds will be competing Friday and Saturday March 26th & 27th as part of the 10th Annual Thaw Brawl. The Modifieds will compete for a first-place prize of $1,000 to win both nights.

LaSalle Speedway owner Tony Izzo Jr. said, “Great Lakes Lifting Solutions and driver Steven Brooks have always been big supporters of the DIRTcar Modified division and the LaSalle Speedway. We are thankful to have them as a title sponsor during the modified portion of the Thaw Brawl.”

The Street Stock/Stock Cars will also be in action on Friday and Saturday night during the 10th Annual Thaw Brawl. It will be $500 to win each night for them.

Thursday night March 25th there will be an open practice from 6 to 9pm for all classes. Pit gates will open at 2pm.

On Friday March 26th, the pit gates will open at noon and grandstands at 1pm. Hotlaps will look to happen at 4:30pm followed by Late Model qualifying. Opening ceremonies and heat race action will kick off at 6:15pm. The night will be closed out by twin 30-lap $3,000 to win Mars Racing Series feature events followed by UMP Modified and Stock Car main events.

Saturday March 27th the pit gates will open once again at noon and grandstands at 1pm. Hotlaps at 4:30 followed by Late Model qualifying. Opening ceremonies and heat race action at 6:15pm. The night will be capped off with a 60-lap $12,000 Mars Racing Series main event. Then $1,000 to win UMP Modified feature and then the Stock Car feature.

Tickets will be sold at the gate only. Friday night general admission is $25. Kids 11 & Under are FREE. Pit passes will be $40. Saturday night general admission is $30. Kids 11 and Under FREE. Pit Passes again $40. Rain or weather related make up date will be Sunday March 28th.

LaSalle Speedway Releases 10th Annual Thaw Brawl Dates

Burbank, IL – The Thaw Brawl will return to the LaSalle Speedway in 2021. The 10th annual event will return to where it all began. Carpentersville, Illinois driver Dennis Erb Jr. won the inaugural event. Tyler Erb won the 2019 edition as the 2020 edition scheduled at the Lee County Speedway in Donnellson, IA fell prey to Covid-19. The 2021 event is scheduled for its familiar dates during the last weekend of March. Be sure to mark March 26th and 27th on the calendar for this year’s event.

This year’s event will be sanctioned by the Mars Racing Series presented by RIP It Energy Fuel. LaSalle Speedway and Mars Racing Series owner Tony Izzo Jr says “I am very excited to be able to bring the Thaw Brawl back to where it all began. It is obviously a no brainer to sanction it with the Mars Racing Series.” Tony purchased the Mars Racing Series just a year ago. Tony also says, “I feel this year we will be able to make the 10th annual Thaw Brawl event an exciting one for everyone.”

Friday night, March 26th will consist of double features paying $3,000 to win, all drivers attending will get a chance to compete in a Friday night feature. On Saturday night will be the $12,000 to win 60 lap main event for the Mars Racing Series.
